You fill in the application and upload documents here. Filing triggers an automatic confirmation, after which the case officer contacts you. They may also request additional documents — answering such requests is mandatory. Silence in response to an officer remains one of the most common reasons for refusal.

Documents are accepted in Croatian or English. In practice a Croatian translation speeds up the review noticeably.

Why this matters: any amount quoted on a website goes stale after the next recalculation. Knowing the formula and the source, you can work out the current value yourself instead of depending on how fresh an intermediary's data is.

Useful beyond the threshold calculation. If you are considering a move followed by employment, this shows real salaries by sector — in IT, for example, they are noticeably above the national average.

The official explanation of the procedure. The apostille is issued by the municipal court where the issuing authority is located, or by the Ministry of Justice, which is authorised for all districts. In practice most people go to the municipal court.

If there is no simplified legalisation agreement between Croatia and your country, full legalisation involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required.

The status of permanent court interpreters in Croatia is governed by the Courts Act and a separate by-law. The page lists the relevant translators' associations.

A translation for filing must be produced by a sworn court translator (ovlašteni sudski tumač). An ordinary translation agency does not qualify.
